I began this one at my social art group-thingy in watercolour this evening and spent an hour or so on it digitally…
More Water-Subjects…
These water scenes are dominating my (spare) painting time lately, I want to paint more and more. I adore the process of looking into the reference shots and making sense of the chaotic patterning. Having fun!

A Small Dead Bird…
My son found this little beauty in the garden yesterday morning, thought I’d pay tribute to it’s short little life.

Cygnet…
Took a whole heap of fabulous photos on the weekend, dearly wanted to paint one of the cygnets I took pics of. This little watercolour is 3 x 4″, I’m definitely going to paint a larger one, most enjoyable
🙂
Sand and Shells…
very much enjoying having the watercolours out again. My life right now is pretty hectic and having these sorts of paintings on the go is a GREAT way to de-stress and focus on something other than ‘stuff’. Recommended.

Watercolour Warmup…
I thought I’d try something a little different today, haven’t had the watercolours out for a while and didn’t have much time as I’m busy with commissioned stuff, but came up with this. Might do a few more of these down the track. Happy to sell the painting. Message me if you’re interested…

In Progress…
I’m enjoying working with watercolour at the moment, but finding scanning/taking working pics increasingly frustrating. With this one, I scanned the original art in and am finishing it off digitally. I’m not a fan of the digital ‘look’, all that slick, shiny stuff doesn’t do it for me personally. It’s always my goal to have my art, whether trad. or digital, have something of an organic look about it.
here I’m adding the line work in Sketchbook Pro. Great program, very intuitive…

Watercolour Warmup From This Morning…
I’m very much enjoying this new little exercise I’m practicing as often as time allows. Seeing and studying everyday objects is a great way to warm up and it helps the eyes look for subtleties in subjects we may otherwise never notice. I really recommend this…
This little painting took approximately 12 minutes.

The Fantasy Artroom.
It’s been a little while since I posted about my new book here. The Fantasy artroom has been winging it’s way around the globe for 3-4 months, and right now, I’m in the process of putting a youtube channel together, I’ve updated the website, I now have the Facebook page up and running. Can I ask, if you like what you see, or if you’ve bought a copy of the book, that you spread the word. I’m hoping the project grows into more publications, more How To’ videos and more workshops.
