These water scenes are dominating my (spare) painting time lately, I want to paint more and more. I adore the process of looking into the reference shots and making sense of the chaotic patterning. Having fun!

Took a whole heap of fabulous photos on the weekend, dearly wanted to paint one of the cygnets I took pics of. This little watercolour is 3 x 4″, I’m definitely going to paint a larger one, most enjoyable
very much enjoying having the watercolours out again. My life right now is pretty hectic and having these sorts of paintings on the go is a GREAT way to de-stress and focus on something other than ‘stuff’. Recommended.

When my sons were very young, they used to collect stones for me, as a sort of love gesture, I saved many of them and kept them in tubs. I pulled out a few out earlier today and painted them, great subjects for finding the hidden little nuances that you wouldn’t normally pay attention to (as with the shells (posted earlier)) each stone is unique…
