Bee – A Work In Progress…

The first painting of the new year before things get moving (I’m anticipating a very busy year ahead), currently enjoying some space and the luxury of no stress, last year was a howler and I’m glad to see it’s arse as it disappears from my sight…

Here’s how things are looking so far. Acrylic/oil on panel 10 x 12″

Salvaging A Failed Painting…

As an artist is always learning at whatever stage of the game, it stands to reason there’ll be a few screwed up pieces of paper and unfinished canvases along the way. This one was almost 5 feet tall when I worked on it, I tried to get it right but it simply wasn’t having a bar of it. I’ve been through this a couple of thousand times or more over the years so naturally, thought nothing of it. Luckily I thought to take a photo of it before I painted over it, and equally lucky that I know my way around a Wacom tablet and painting software. I salvaged it with very little work and I’m happy as a result.

A win.

Stoned.

This one may take a while, it’s 4ft tall, didn’t quite realise the work involved, still, getting there slowly… The shot (left) shows how it stands right now, (right) close up of the top portion…

Moving in with some finer details…
-Oil on canvas board 10×12″

It’s been a while since my head was in this sort of space, I used to paint a lot of this kind of thing, very much enjoying the challenge of making something look ‘real’, I’ve been working on this one, on and off, for a couple of days…

The Stream- Update…

I haven’t posted the progress of this one here for a while. Here’s how it’s looking right now. I tried to have it finished for Christmas¬†(it’s a gift for somebody) but I didn’t make that deadline. Still, it’s coming together nicely, shouldn’t be too much longer…

The Stream…

Here’s a painting (of my children) I’m currently working on, one I’m very much enjoying, due in large part, to the highly detailed nature of the piece., as it’s a present for someone, I wanted it to be a little special. I’m working on it in acrylics at the moment but will switch to oils for technical reasons soon.

Plenty more still left to do, will post it’s progress as I go…
