Blues And More Blues…
As regular readers’ll know, I was bought a new guitar for my birthday, and along with the guitar seemingly came a renewed love for the blues, I used to gig with blues/rock bands regularly in my teens and well into my late 20′s and haven’t played very much since, well, here I am in my 40′s, vowing and declaring to put that right. I’ll add another one shortly…

Another recent ambient rock piece. Very much enjoying making music after a long day at the drawing board, balances things out nicely. Often the art (especially for commissions) can involve quite the Hurculean effort, music seems to just fall out, like a sigh of relief…

Dancing Ladies….
I rekindled an old love last night. I used to draw ballerinas all the time in my 20′s, something about the grace of the ladies and the challenge of the lines. I polished off 8 of these pages in an hour. I’ll definately be doing more, great practise!

Working in oils can be both liberating (when you’re using them) and frustrating (due to drying times)… Here’re a couple I worked on recently.
A Mermaid… Progress.
My latest work. Started this last night and finished it this morning. I enjoyed this a lot and may well have to keep this Mermaid theme running for a while. (watercolour on Arches 300gsm hot press)

Work In Progress…
I have a lot of stuff happening right now. If you’ve seen any of my recent posts you’ll know I have an exhibition coming up. I’ve been absolutely inspired lately and am playing things by ear. I haven’t made a shortlist of art to exhibit yet so I’m frantically painting away to see which ones resonate the most with me. I started this one earlier this morning and have spent approx. 4 hours on it so far, the fact that I’ve done this much in such a short space of time leads me to conclude that I’ll probably be exhibiting this. (oils).
