Todays scribbling….

Here’s today’s sketch…..

Tea With A Troll….

todays doodlings….

new youtube videos…

I’ve just started working on a canvas here… We had a storm overhead for a while and I needed to do something that didn’t involve working on the computer so I painted this and recorded it as I went, I’ll add more as I go…

here’s part one:

And part two:

Tonight’s sketching…

‘On A Kingfishers Back’…Inks.

been hard at work all day, thankfully having deadlines and things to focus upon has taken my mind off the craziness around us here, I carried the arty mood on into the evening by inking up this doodle from yesterday, lots of fun.

last Night’s Telly Doodlings….

More scribblings from in front of the TV last night… needed something to take my mind away from all the carnage raging through Queensland. Thankfully, we’re having a day of sun here in brisbane so hopefully the rivers and water systems’ll settle down and give people a much-needed break. I’m sending out as much love and best wishes as I can to all those victims and rescue workers trying to make sense of this craziness.

On the go…

I started this one a while ago, I do a little to it every now and again, here’s where it stands right now, still a fair bit to do……

Cauldren… coloured sketch

I posted the line art for this before Christmas (see below somewhere…).  a few days later I got out the watercolours and splashed some pigments around:

Lions on Hilltops….

I adore the Narnia books, they rank up there as my favourite books of all time. I’ve read them many times over the years and will probably continue to do so. here’s a doodle from before Christmas 2010…

On the Ale…

Tonight’s telly sketchings… I’ve had a rather wonderful day today and these old buggers turned up on the page…

Horned Horsey On A Hilltop…

Just found this on one of my hard drives, I’ve a feeling I posted the line art for this a year or two ago, but I haven’t posted this version, it’s been coloured in photoshop, an early effort to make my digital art look more traditional, I’m not a huge fan of that overly ‘digital’ look…

N.C. Wyeth

I was a lucky boy this Christmas… My wife asked me what I wanted so I thought I’d better be honest and gave her a list of books I’d been after for a while, I didn’t expect her to buy almost every book on the list (not complaining though…). Anyway, one of the books she bought (as a surprise, it wasn’t even on the list) was the brilliant NC Wyeth biography by David Michaelis. I’m ploughing through it at a rate of knots… the guy was a genius, pure and simple. I must admit though, as an Englishman, I didn’t know too much about this American treasure, only through people such as the Hildebrandts and Frank Frazetta citing him as an influence… I absolutely adore his work, very stylised but very powerful.

just thought I’d post an image or two of his work here- and I thoroughly recommend that biography…
