Works On The Go….

As usual, plenty of things on the drawing board (and scattered around the studio), here’re a couple of things I’m currently working on, the top one’s an acrylic/oil version of an earlier digital painting and teh bottom one’s an image for a personal project…

Book Available Very Soon….

Just received proof copies of my new compilation of line art from the last ten years…. I’m very happy with the way they’ve turned out, and rather excited and will be plugging them everywhere (laughs)… I’m told by Amazon that they’ll be available to buy online in a week or two… I’ll update here as I go. Here’s the cover:

New Website…

It’s been a little while since I last updated it, but I’ve redesigned my website and am fairly happy with it (for now). Here’s the link:

I’ve been busy on a few things as usual, a children’s picture book, a commissioned oil painting and a couple of personal projects on the go. here’s a little silhouette from one of my personal thingies…

Branches…….

Yesterday’s new drawing.

‘Bookish’

Today’s new drawing, drawn for a video tutorial demonstration…..

Crow Riding…

New drawing… It’s no secret that I enjoy drawing fae folks, but I have to admit that drawing the crow (and it’s cousins) pleases me no end. I based this drawing on a photo I took of a crow in flight a couple of weeks ago, it’s hard to capture a moment like this so I made sure I’d use it.

Here’s the original sketch (before inking)

and a few more crows…

Peeping… coloured…

I’ve got so much on the go at the moment, I don’t know which way is up. I started this illustration the other night and fully intended to paint it with watercolour (which I still will…eventually) but I needed something to wind down with last night so I coloured this digitally instead.

Peekaboo…..

This image had been hauting me all day yesterday, I waas up all night…I had to draw it… I’ll colour this with watercolour at some point….(maybe).

New Book….

I’m putting a book together showcasing some of my line art drawings. The whole thing is taking a wee bit of time, more time than I thought it would in all honesty. Very much looking forward to seeing it in print. I will, of course, put up the details when it’s finished.

In the meantime….Here’s a recent illustration I drew for a children’s book.

The Queen…

I found a half hour gap in my busy work schedule today… Thought I’d just scratch some tonal stuff into last week’s sketch.

Morning…

Doodling in front of the telly last night. I wanted to do something a little more lighthearted than usual. I wish I woke up in the morning like this instead of feeling like I’m made of lead from being too busy adventuring in my dreams…

Thorns….

No wonder the little feller’s looking grumpy. That doesn’t look like a particularly comfortable place to park yer bum does it….?

Contemplation….

Yesterday’s telly sketching. Just can’t stop scribbling away at old trees and roots and things at the moment….

Sulky…

Meet the not too well known 8th dwarf  ‘Sulky’. he was never about, always moping around in his room feeling sorry for himself, now he’s all grown up and is cheesed off as the other seven always enjoyed more attention than he did…

Earth Mother- Old drawing….

I came across this drawing last night in one of my sketchbooks. It’s an old one, but I still have fond memories of it.:

Wren and Friend…

Last night’s telly sketching. I seem to enjoy these sketches much more than my commissioned stuff at the moment. Maybe it’s because there’s no pressure or rules attached….
